Vivi was born in Clearwater, Florida and is into hard work-outs, going to concerts, Rays games, jet-skiing, club-hopping, hiking and anything made by Apple. She considers herself a bi-dimensional musician: she straddles the worlds of classical and pop music simultaneously. She has lived in
Florida all her life and grew up hearing all kinds of music everything from Simon and Garfunkel to Beethoven and Bach. She first sat down at a piano when she was nine. It was clear she had a natural affinity for the keys, so she started taking lessons and soon became a one-man-band on her first Yamaha keyboard for her youth group at age ten. She has had classical training in piano and voice since that time, earning a Bachelors in Piano Performance and Church Music at
Southeastern
University. She is graduating in December 2009 from USF with her Masters in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy. Although by day you'll hear her practicing Mozart, at night the stops come out and
Vivi transforms into a straight-up rocker chick. She loves the alternative rock and electronic sounds of bands like Depeche Mode, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, and Audioslave, and of course digs rock goddesses like Gwen Stefani of No Doubt fame and Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries. If she's not playing or listening to music,
Vivi will probably be found involved in one of her other obsessions fitness and fashion. Her goals in 2010 are to finish a marathon and open an eBay shop with some of her extensive wardrobe! Famous last words: "that's what she said!" Band nickname: "Vivi" |
